Hi, dears!
The long-awaited trip to Japan has end and I can say that I have pleasant impressions. I expected Tokyo to be a busy city with a crazy pace of life because so many people live here, but everything turned out to be completely different. Maybe it’s just my impression, but the first word that comes to mind when I thinking about whole past month is calm
Yes, Tokyo is crowded and there are very busy areas where you almost bump into other passers-by, but most of the city is low-rise residential buildings located on cozy little streets, where life flows measuredly and unhurriedly
During the trip, I managed to live in different parts of the city (can’t say that moving was my favorite part 😅, but it is what it is), so I was able to see both local places and tourist areas
The first two weeks were difficult for me to get used to the local culture. For a Westerner, at first glance, people in Japan may seem a bit cold, because in Japan it is not customary to make small talk and look at each other with a smile (in this they are definitely similar to Russians), but in the second half of the trip I got used to it and stopped perceiving it as coldness, and began to perceive it as politeness
People in Japan are very polite and always ready to help if you ask them, so I highly recommend this country for tourism. Culture, history, food, convenience, safety — everything is top notch and if you want to visit a place like no other, then Japan is a great choice
I will definitely come back here again and for the second time I plan to visit some other cities — Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Okinawa. It remains only to choose the month and duration of the trip
And, of course, I met many wonderful people whom I will be glad to see again in the future! Saying goodbye to my friends from Japan until next year
